Survivor

back in august of 2023, wubby and alluux did a week long dubathon that was an absolute blast. one of the recurring segments on the dubathon was survivor night, they watched an episode or two every night and by the end of the week they'd finished the season. that season was david vs. goliath, and it was the first season of survivor i'd ever seen

i fell in love with the show immediately, and it's no wonder why, considering DvG is widely considered to be one of the best seasons. christian is one of my favourite players to this day, angelina gave the fanbase some of the best memes and running jokes we have, the david's minority vote split is one of the greatest plays in the history of the show, the brochachos are classic survivor with the most unlikely people coming together in the most wholesome way; we had medevacs, a literal evacuation because of a typhoon, a jeff negotiation, a charismatic celebrity; the whole cast came to play hard but were hilarious and entertaining the whole way through, the advantages and twists don't feel like too much even though it's one of the most advantage heavy seasons in the show's run, and the theme played out so perfectly you couldn't have written it better. this season is up there with the heroes vs. villains and the tocantins of the world - it's a 10/10

after i finished catching up with the dubathon in september, i signed up for paramount+ because i wanted more of this crazy show i just watched. at the time, canadian paramount+ only had seasons 30 and on. i wasn't sure if i was going to watch every season, so i looked at a few "all seasons of survivor ranked" lists to pick my next season. that ended up being millenials vs. gen x, another strong pick that sent me further down the road to becoming a survivor superfan. i can't remember what seasons i watched next, but over the next few months i went through everything that was available to stream at the time. 45 started airing when i was only a couple seasons in, so that was my first season i watched live (and thank god it was that and not 44 or they might have lost me right there)

by january of 2024 i was all-in, i had watched 30 through 40 three times each and 41 through 44 once each. the rewatching was mainly a product of laziness, but after that many rewatches in such a short span, i was ready to commit. i found sources (definitely legal) for the old seasons, and went all the way back to borneo to watch the entire series in order. and my god was i ever glad i did. i honestly think the 30's are way overhated, but even i was blown away by how much better the old seasons were. it took me almost 2 years due to some breaks and a bit of burnout, but i finally finished the last season i hadn't seen in november of 2025. technically it should have been san juan del sur because i was going in order, but i wanted to go out with a bang, so i swapped SJDS with cagayan and had a total blast with it

so anyway - there's a little history lesson on how i got so hooked on this show. this will definitely be the yappiest section of this website, so if you're a survivor fan i guess you're in luck. scroll down from here for a directory and get started! :)

Can I borrow your rain coat? When the world is too blue so I put my night-light colored sunglasses on. There's still the half-burned polaroid picture of us under your ashtray, that I look at to remember my face.
